PTA Partners Updates

What is PTA?

PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association. That means that a team of parents, teachers, and school administration work together to provide the best education for children. When you get involved with the PTA, you are working towards the same goals and vision as the National, State, and local PTA unit in your school. By working together and expanding our membership, we are able to make a bigger and better difference int he lives of all our children. PTA is also one of the nations’ oldest and most successful advocacy organizations. PTA has been an advocate for children since 1897, and has always been at the forefront in supporting laws that benefit children.

Being a member means more than just voting rights on how and what the PTA budgets for, it’s a pathway to help guide this PTA to successfully implement and execute goals that will benefit every child at Pearsontown. We need time, funds, and good will from people just like you to help keep PTA running. There is so much for us to do, but we need your help. Join us and help us do even more.

The strength of this PTA lies in its membership – the parents, teachers, school administrators, business leaders, and community members who devote themselves to making a positive difference in the lives of children. But a thriving membership doesn’t just happen; it requires year-round attention from leaders like you. Members are the lifeblood of the PTA and provide the passion, leadership, and hard work needed to fulfill PTA’s mission.

You Will Make A Difference.

Some people think that to be a PTA member you have to volunteer. Your time is valuable and we certainly value any time you could provide. However, we understand that you may not be able to make a commitment of time. Please consider joining us to show your support of our efforts; you can decide how much time you invest in volunteering. We will keep you informed of our activities, and we welcome your input.

Thank you for taking the first step to informing yourself about our PTA, and taking interest in joining us.

Remember, what you get from the PTA depends on how much you:

  • Participate in programs
  • Vote on PTA issues and PTA officer elections
  • Learn what is available to you from your local, state and national PTA.
  • Encourage your PTA to conduct programs helpful to you and your children.

The Target Goals of this PTA are to:

  • Bridge the gap of the diverse population at Pearsontown to include ALL families and children.
  • Provide resources to children and teachers to ensure an equal education,
  • Grow our membership to voice support
  • Provide communication.
  • Be a liaison for parents, students, and administration.
  • Provide educational enrichment activities
  • Engage families in wellness initiatives

Team Up with the Pearsontown PTA! Everyone is invited to join us!

Please contact the Membership Chair for information about becoming a PTA Member or questions regarding membership cards. Memberships are $8 per adult.
